Cactus Cat

Description: A bobcat like creature with additional spikes near the face, tail, and on the legs. 

Location/Range: Mojave Desert, Sonoran Desert, and throughout the southwest United States.

Sightings: Since the early 1900s reports of the Cactus Cat have circulated.  Cactus Cat was included in the 1910 book Fearsome Creatures of the Lumberwoods by William Thomas Cox.

Fun Fact: Cactus Cats are thought to use their tails to slash through barrel cactus to encourage fermantation of the cactus juices.  Then they drink the fermented juice.
